The Bell has nine bedrooms as well as seven staff rooms, which have scope for conversion to accommodate more paying guests.

There are two cosy rooms in the old part of the pub, the library and snug, as well as an open plan restaurant with exposed beams and a stone floor which can accommodate about 85 people.

There is a long timber bar and the kitchen is open, allowing guests to see the chefs in action.

The terrace at the front boasts views overlooking fields and becomes such a sun trap that awnings are hung up in the summer.

The pub is currently looking for a weekend breakfast waiter.

“There are getting on for 100 internal covers plus a super terrace at the front overlooking fields.

“Letting bedrooms are so important to balance trade, and while the F&B (food and beverage) space is fantastic, the nine letting rooms really boost the business. There are seven staff rooms too; perhaps offering scope for conversion to accommodate more paying guests.

“The location is surely strong enough to be able to fill them.”

The pub website says: “Opened in 2009, The Bell at Hampton Poyle is a delightful nine-bedroomed, independent and privately owned boutique hotel, pub and restaurant.

“The charm of this century’s old historic pub has been complemented by the contemporary design of the restaurant. Flagstone floors, oak beams and large leather armchairs set the tone in this classic English Inn.”

The menu features pizzas from the pub’s wood oven, and other dishes include: Oxford Sandy and Black Pork Belly, ham hock croquette, apple puree, seasonal greens and cider jus:  (£26); Autumn Risotto, pink prince pumpkin, spinach, crispy egg, sweet potato crisps, £19.50; and Gentleman’s Lunch – slices of cold rare roast sirloin of beef, fries, mixed salad, celeriac remoulade (£21).
