Mark Carney’s Liberal Party has won the Canadian election. In his victory speech, Carney told supporters that “President Trump is trying to break” Canada so that “America can own” the country.

In his concession speech, defeated Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre said “hard lessons” had been learned from the election.
